Valeria Bruyere, is the Program Manager for Pacific Forum International, Women, Peace and Security Program; working in Honolulu Hawaii providing support to Pacific Forum’s research activities and events on health security, cybersecurity, climate security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, preventing and countering violent extremism, and maritime security, with a focus on the promotion of women’s participation in peace and security policy at international levels in dialogues, policies, and peace processes in the Indo-Pacific area.
Previous to this position, Valeria worked with the Foreign Agricultural Service/USDA as an International Operations Specialist in Washington DC, and at the Foreign Service Institute as a specialist in Latin American Culture.

Valeria completed a Master of Arts in International Relations from University of Oklahoma in 2013 and is a regional specialist in Latin America and Asia Pacific. Originally from Mexico City, Valeria returned to Hawaii in August of 2019 after spending five years in Washington DC working for the Federal Government.
Valeria is also an Army spouse with twin boys, she enjoys ocean activities, hiking, traveling, family and friends gatherings and living Aloha.
