Welcome to the fourth iteration of CSCAP WPS Study Group.

For our first in-person meeting, we will meet on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii — also known as “the gathering place.”

This meeting will serve as an opportunity to continue working toward a shared definition of and plan for adopting and implementing WPS in the Asia Pacific; and to address topics that align with the recently launched ASEAN Regional Plan of Action (RPA) on WPS. It will take stock of scholarship and evidence on thematic issues related to WPS, notably regional WPS implementation; gender and migration; women, unpaid care work and security; root causes of gender inequality; and gender balance across a range of security-relevant institutions.

An area of focus for the WPS Study Group has been developing an agenda for regional cooperation on WPS and effectively engaging regional policymakers (inclusive of the ASEAN Regional Forum). This fourth meeting will take input from the previous meetings to draft the Study Group Memorandum.
